My dogs & I, compete in Agility events, attend seminars & workshops together. In order to stay current with training & keep adding to my knowledge, I continue to do on-line courses. I teach classes for a local dog agility club that I belong to. The programs, materials, & approach used are all positive effective ethical humane ways to train. I access a variety of resources in training & use a positive reward games base approach.
For your information, I am adding some well known sources regarding the games based method of training. One of the people known for a science based, positive reinforcement games approach is Susan Garrett & her way of training "where everything was just another game for her dogs". Susan Garrett is a world known top dog trainer & Agility Champion. I am an alumni of several of her programs.
Other knowledgeable people using research based, innovative real life training through games are Tom Mitchell, one of the UK's top Veterinary Behaviourist, & Lauren Langman of Devon Dogs, UK, a successful trainer & agility competitor world wide. The two of them have established one of the largest & successful dog training facilities in the UK. I am a member of their on-line Academy Training program & a Certified Pro Dog Trainer.
I run 'Absolutely Fun Dog Training' with my 2 wonderful Tollers, Sophie & Gemma.' Absolutely Fun Dog Training', is dedicated to building a great relationship with our dogs. A positive reward games based approach is used where we learn through play. In playing games,we can shape our dog's personalilties & help them to learn to make good choices. The concepts learned through playing games tranfers into real life.
Sophie & Gemma,Teaching Assistants, help out during lessons. We can show you how to work with your dog out in a real world environment. You will also get an idea of different levels of learning & ways to train your pet. Each dog has their own unique personality & learns at their own rate. The Games are short & easy to play. Three minute Games offer a fun quick way to fit in training. Yes. Three Minutes a game. The Games way of training is not a 'one size fits all' type of approach. It's flexible, less stressful, & is fun for both you & your dog.
